Fishing ponds and picnic areas
There are two fishing possibilities:
1) You purchase a one-day or half-day ticket in our gift shop
2) You book one of the two fishing ponds.
- The Fredo pond is named after the sculptor Fréderic Levesque who inspired us in creating the Coule Douce brand. It is located in the middle of the animal park and features the trout stream, a charcoal barbecue and a large picnic table ideal for groups of 10 to 20 people.
- The Judicael pond is named after Mr. Judicaël Levesque who purchased the estate in 1929. It features a charcoal barbecue and a large picnic table ideal for groups of 15 to 30 people.
Booking of the Frédo and Judicaël ponds for one day includes exclusive use of each site with catch & release fishing. However, at the time of booking, you have the option of ordering un lâcher de truites de minimum 10 KG. In that case, you can take home or barbecue on site the equivalent of your purchase.
Note that on site picnics are only allowed with the booking of one of the two fishing ponds.
Fishing type: Catch & release for all fish with the exception of trouts when a trout release has been ordered and for daily anglers with a ticket.
The catch: We thank all full day and 1/2 day anglers for taking a picture of their trout catch and showing it to us prior to departure for billing and stock management.
Dogs: Dogs are not allowed in the animal park and around the Fredo pond.
Fish handling: Anglers will return their fish to water in the best possible conditions and as quickly as possible, especially in hot weather.
Fishing equipment: You can bring your own equipment or purchase baits, lines and rods in our gift shop. Note that barbed hooks barbs are prohibited.
Music: Music is prohibited as well as excessive noise in order to maintain the tranquility of the place.
Cleaning: Make sure to clean after your group prior to departure including cigarette butts.
Drinks: Alcoholic drinks not sold by the brewery are strictly prohibited.
Picnic, charcoal: You can bring your picnic or order your meals at the brewery. Charcoal is available in our gift shop.
Swimming: Swimming is prohibited on the entire site.
Bathrooms: Use of bathrooms at the brewery is mandatory!
Trout fillets are extremely easy to prepare on the barbecue. Before you start preparing the fish, preheat the grill and then reduce temperature to around 120 degrees. Coat the trout with cooking oil and season with salt, pepper and lemon juice.
Once seasoned, place trouts directly on the grill, skin side down. Trouts cook quickly and are ready when the meat is white, you can test with a fork.
Most small trout do not need to be turned over, if you have large fillets, be sure to flip them over on a piece of foil.
