The beer:

Gargantua is an amber (8.5% alc) refermented in bottles. It is a strong beer with plenty of hop flavors and the pronounced aromas of special perfectly balanced malts; all generously accented with fruity flavors coming from high fermentation yeasts.

The Gargantua is a craft beer brewed according to our own recipe in northern France at a long-time business partner, the St Sylvestre brewery.

Gargantua is available in 75cl bottles.

The legend:

The Perche is an area of rolling hills. This landscape dramatically contrasts with the surrounding flat areas of Beauce and Maine. These hills are rumored to be the work of Gargantua. Indeed, the giant of author François Rabelais, having crossed the Beauce territory, is said to have made a rest stop in the Perche. Near Mortagne, he had to clean his boots covered with mud and this mud formed the hills of the Perche.
